CONFERENCE

This 3rd edition of FUTUROPALETTES on 27 and 28 November 2023 in Lille, confirms the event’s status as the main bi-annual convention for

key players and decision-makers in logistics and the supply chain who use wooden pallets, as well as professionals in the forestry and timber

sectors and institutional bodies. FUTUROPALETTES has gained increasing levels of recognition and success since its first edition in 2018.

THE WOODEN PALLET IN TOMORROW’S LOGISTICS

Logistics is one of France's strengths: a regional activity with high employment potential, it is a mainstay of future economic activity. A health crisis lasting two years and the recent news linked to the war in Ukraine has prompted the government to put forward a more proactive policy which recognises the true strategic value of the transportation of goods and logistics.

One of the key elements of the transportation of goods is the way products are packaged. Bulk transportation of goods is becoming less common as other types of packaging, such as containers, crates or pallets, are now used more frequently. The wooden pallet has developed significantly since the 1980s and is now the cornerstone of modern logistics.

Far from being a mere ‘commodity’, the pallet is an essential element of an efficient and profitable supply chain. The different issues and perspectives around this topic will be discussed at FUTUROPALETTES 2023.

ORGANISER

PALLET COMMISSION OF THE NATIONAL WOOD FEDERATION (Fédération Nationale du Bois)

The National Wood Federation is the professional organisation for stakeholders in the forestry and wood processing sectors in France. Through its Pallet Commission, it brings together the main players in pallet and box-pallet production, repairers and recyclers, sawmills specialising in packaging, specialist pallet flow logisticians, as well as many industrialists directly associated with the forestry and timber sectors. Its mission today is to promote the use of wooden pallets, to defend and represent the interests of professionals, and to enhance the image and appeal of the profession.
